ANEM Ferries is the trading name of the Anonymous Shipping Company of Mastichari (Greek: Anonymi Naftiliaki Etairia Mastichariou), a Greek family operator established in 1986. Based in the village of Mastichari on the north-western coast of Kos, ANEM Ferries provides daily service between Mastichari and Kalymnos and seasonal connections to Pserimos and Nisyros.
The fleet of two well-maintained Ro-Pax vessels accepts foot passengers, cars, motorhomes, motorcycles and bicycles. The flagship Olympios Zeus runs the Mastichari-Kalymnos crossing in under one hour. Onboard amenities are sized to the short crossing — indoor air-conditioned seating, an open deck with sea views, basic snack bar service and toilets. There are no cabins. Mastichari is the closest port on Kos to Kos International Airport. ANEM Ferries is the recommended operator for travellers flying into Kos and continuing onward to Kalymnos by ferry the same day.
ANEM Ferries tickets booked through SimpleFerry are issued as PDF e-tickets. Online check-in is not currently available — passengers should arrive at the port at least 60 minutes before departure (120 minutes with a vehicle). Pets are not currently accepted on ANEM Ferries based on operator advisories at the time of writing.
Take a taxi or local bus to Mastichari port (about 15 minutes from the airport), then the ANEM Ferries Mastichari-Kalymnos crossing. Total transit from airport to Kalymnos can be under 2 hours including the ferry.
