Fleet and onboard experience

The fleet consists of three hydrofoils: Athina, Venus I and Erato. All three are foot-passenger vessels with airline-style seating, no cabins and no vehicle decks. Onboard amenities are minimal by design — these are short crossings of 30 minutes to two hours, focused on speed rather than entertainment. Passengers sit in numbered seats during the journey. Hydrofoils typically operate at around 32 knots, which makes them the fastest scheduled service in the Saronic Gulf and a useful option for day trips from Athens to Aegina, Agistri or Poros.

Booking, check-in and luggage on SimpleFerry

Aegean Flying Dolphins tickets sold through SimpleFerry are confirmed by booking reference, but the operator does not currently issue printable e-tickets. Passengers exchange the booking reference for a paper ticket at the port booth before boarding. Boarding closes 40 minutes before departure, after which late arrivals cannot board. Plan to be at the port at least one hour before scheduled departure during the summer. Hand luggage is allowed at no additional charge. Hydrofoils have very limited luggage space, so oversized bags or sports equipment may not be accepted. Vehicles, motorcycles and bicycles are not carried.

Pet policy

Pets travel only in pet kennels with valid health documentation. Unaccompanied pets are not accepted on Aegean Flying Dolphins crossings.
