Tallink Silja Line

Tallink Silja Line is the trading name used by AS Tallink Grupp, an Estonian shipping company that traces its origins to 1965 when the Estonian Shipping Company introduced passenger ferry services between Helsinki and Tallinn on MS Vanemuine. AS Tallink Grupp was founded in 1989 and is publicly listed on the Tallinn Stock Exchange. After acquiring Silja Line from Sea Containers in 2006 and the Baltic operations of Superfast Ferries the same year, it became the largest passenger and cargo shipping company in the Baltic Sea region, transporting around 5.5 million passengers a year between Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Latvia and the Åland Islands.
